I arrived in the unique and beautiful Sierra Cabrera’s of Spain from the UK on a two year sabbatical from my teaching career and stayed! My journey into the world of painting and drawing started over 16 years ago when I taught art in primary schools. Over the last three years I have combined my skills as a teacher with my love of art and started my own business, Andalusian Arts.
I have always enjoyed being creative having painted first in watercolour and more recently, in oils and acrylics. Favourite subjects to paint are tropical flowers and fruits, also mountain and seascapes and I greatly admire the work of the American artist Georgia O Keefe and Spanish artist Didier Lourenco.
The landscape of Spain provides the opportunity for me to explore the beauty of painting and drawing in different medium. Sometimes relaxing, sometimes frustrating but always fascinating. My journey never feels over as there is always something to learn and be inspired by.
There is little doubt that you too will be inspired by the stunning natural beauty of Andalusia and whether you’re a novice or professional artist you can have fun learning about painting in oils and acrylics! I look forward to meeting you and sharing my experience of Sierra Cabrera with you!
